Victims and Volunteers | Overnight

Our last band on Friday comes courtesy of New York Underbelly and we are pumped to have them close out the show. Overnight is yet another local band, but we're duly impressed with their music and story. Even though they've been a band for a short time, they've gained significant buzz from their energetic live shows, resulting in a Gothamist Band of the Week pick in late January.

After their first show, they were asked to squeeze onto a CMJ bill sponsored by Fader Magazine the very next week. From what we've heard, we can see why. It's a sincere mixture of respectable influences from the 70's and 80's, melding together to form some sort of garage dance rock outfit that is worthy of a few screams. After our three bands, and Rob and I on the decks, this is going to be some way to end the party. But don't worry, after they play, I'll be spinning til the wee hours of the morning.
